Before you contact us, please read
Handsome Dan’s Rescue is not an animal shelter but a network of volunteer foster homes. We do not accept owner surrenders. We are not able to respond to messages requesting help with re-homing animals. This is not because we do not care, but is simply a matter of time. If we took time to respond to each request from someone needing assistance with re-homing their dog we would have no time left to care for the dogs in our program.
If you feel you can not keep your dog, please see Pit Bull Rescue Central for information on safely re-homing a dog. If you are looking to re-home your dog due to behavioral reasons, please try working with a reputable dog trainer to resolve your issues. If you simply must surrender your dog and are out of time, please contact a local shelter.
Please understand that Handsome Dan’s Rescue is NOT a shelter nor do we have or operate kennel space. We are a foster based organization and our mission and abilities do not include re-homing dogs. Our all volunteer staff can easily become overwhelmed with Contact Form submissions that are both outside of our mission and outside of our means. Please be patient when waiting for a response as our volunteers juggle full time work and family commitments in addition to volunteering with us. Please take this into consideration before contacting us. We appreciate your patience and understanding. Thank you.
